What does your second gear redline at?
EDIT: Clearly I mean MPH.

The same as what 1st 3rd 4th 5th and 6th redlines at.

Literature says 6400. It can apparently run up to almost 7k before fuel cutoff. There is a segment in the pamphlet that talks about how the ecu specifically let you run past redline for up to three seconds or so.

Unlimited. Put a racing ignition "brain box" in it. But, I know to keep it at 6100.

I meant speed, not RPM. I should have been more clear.

I'm looking for speed. Curious because speed is killing me at autox in my car, I want to know where the FiST is at as it's the closest competitor (other than the Abarth). I just tested mine, I get 47, which is too low for autocross. FRS driver I know said his is 55

Oooooohhh. I know it is just below 60. I've heard anywhere from 55 to 58 but I don't know if that 58 factors in the engine running past redline or not. I'm just going to say "below 60 but above 55"

110 mph. Source - my imagination
HFV has no HFV. But somehow has 2 motorcycles

That's annoying. Probly good for racing, but annoying for DD. I know my Civic hits 55 in second, so I shift to third and use about 1000 RPM before it's time to back off, and shift to fifth. I really wish I could either shift to third sooner like my old Civic(2nd topped about 45), or hold second to 60-65.

Overcoming gear ratios is not easily done. You could decrease circumference of tire for the AutoX for a little benefit.

Not annoying for DD at all since I don't redline it all the time.....And really you don't get *that* much in the last 500rpm or so before redline. So on the street I shift at around 50 or so even if I'm driving "aggressively" . But at an autocross? Yes that extra speed plus the ability to hold it past redline is INCREDIBLY useful.

How well does your sonic rev up in 3rd? The FiST has a tall 3rd (I think it tops out at 90?) so I only shift into it if I'm going to sustain 50+ mph for a few seconds. It saps a lot of acceleration if I dip below that.

I don't really get any power below 3000 RPM, so unless I'm going to be over 50 it's not worth shifting. The last two courses have made me shift up, and the one today had a couple sections where I was stuck on the limiter but didn't have enough time to shift, which I'm sure hurt my time by a second or two.

Is there a short shift kit for your sonic? That might be a way to solve your issues by making it less of a penalty to shift gears. I'm also curious if your engine has a "no lift shift" program available like on the cobalt SS. Apparently any 2.0L ecotec turbo can have that software built in. I don't know if it's there on the 1.4 turbo but it might be another thing to look into.

There will be soon, and I'm getting it, but it wouldn't really help that much. Everything happens so fast in autocross that shifting down takes time.
My tune has a no lift shift, but that only helps with shifting up. Shifting up isn't the problem as I'm only needing to do it when I get going quickly in a straightish line. Shifting down is difficult though.
I need to think more about just running in 3rd for portions of the course. If I can hold 40 or so I should really be in 3rd.

Stock, it's under 60. Pretty short for my local courses, and any of the bigger courses you'd find at national or regional events.
